2024 was another successful year for Ruislip Rifle Club in county, national and international competitions.
We may not have won the Astor competition like in 2023, but we were still the team that qualified to represent Middlesex in this prestigious national competition, and came a respectable 5th in the final.
Ruislip members won most of the competitions at the Middlesex Championship meeting in July, both team and individual. Ken Bowley won the County Championship once again with Jane Brown winning the Ladies Championship.
Ruislip members continue to contribute to the Middlesex County team, making up ¾ of the team for 2024/5.
In the Middlesex club team leagues, Ruislip’s A team won division 1 in both the Winter and Summer seasons, and it should be noted that Ruislip was one of the few Middlesex clubs to field more than one team.
At the National Championships at Bisley, Jane Newing was the Captain of the victorious England Ladies team in the Home Countries International match and Jane Brown was her adjutant. Jane Newing also shot in the record breaking Great Britain team in the Randle Match, soundly beating the USA.
