We have three 20 yard firing points for airgun and Lightweight Sport Rifle shooting.

Air Rifle and Air Pistol shooting have seen some changes in recent years. The change to the law that effectively banned pistol shooting also allowed pre-charged air and CO2 rifles and pistols to be treated in the same way as their spring-operated cousins.

20 yard Air Pistol20yd. Air Pistol

At Ruislip, we cater for those that want to shoot Air Pistol at 20 yards (the old smallbore pistol distance). We have 3 firing points, shared with Lightweight Sport Rifle shooters.

How to start

Before you can start to shoot, you will need to join the Club. If you decide within the first month that you don't want to continue, we will cancel your membership and refund your fee, minus a £5.00 charge. When you join, you will have Provisional membership. You will be asked to keep a record of your attendances on your membership card. After 6 months, your membership will be reviewed, and if you have shown that you have attended regularly and have been instructed successfully in the various aspects of shooting, including acting safely and responsibly at all times, you will be given Full membership. If you have not met the conditions above, you may be asked to remain a provisional member for a further period, or (in extreme cases) your membership may be revoked. The probation process may be relaxed, at the discretion of the management committee, for FAC holders with suitable references from another rifle club.

  • Safe, inexpensive and easy to try.
  • Indoors - so you don't have to get wet when it rains!
  • Target Shooting is partly physical and mentally demanding. Short periods of concentration are part of the training.

Our Clubhouse and indoor range is situated near West Ruislip station, and open for 20 yard disciplines on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 7:30pm. Precision 10m air disciplines are shot on Wednesday evenings. Members pay a £1.00 range fee per session, which includes the cost of practice targets. Air pellets and CO2 canisters are sold separately.

Equipment for use by members

The club has a limited range of air pistols and other equipment for members to use, free of charge.

Instruction and Coaching

We have a number of experienced and qualified instructors and coaches.

We are not accepting new members due to the loss of our range. Existing members can continue to shoot as members of Ruislip Rifle Club.

For a small club, with just a 4-lane indoor range, we consistently achieve more than you would think in competitions. This was certainly true this year at the National Small-bore Championships help at Bisley in August.
